    Chief of Endocrinology (Cambridge Public Health Commission d/b/a Cambridge Health Alliance; Cambridge, Everett, and Somerville, MA): The Chief of Endocrinology is responsible for the overall performance of the Division of Endocrinology for Cambridge Health Alliance, ensuring that the division functions within the goals and mission of Cambridge Health Alliance. The Chief is accountable to ensure excellence in the quality of clinical care, customer service, financial performance, staff recruitment and development, and academic achievement. The Chief of Endocrinology will provide clinical services in endocrinology for patients of the Cambridge Health Alliance. This includes ambulatory sessions, urgent and emergent consultations, and participation in the call coverage schedule for all CHA campuses. Specific responsibilities of the Chief of Endocrinology include: Establishing standards for endocrine care to meet or exceed benchmarks for high performing endocrine services. Implementing, monitoring, and reporting on-going effectiveness of endocrine clinical care provided to CHA patients. Promoting compliance with all CHA initiatives to support a safe environment for patients and high quality of care. Integrating endocrine care across disciplines and sites of care. Improving the access to endocrinology consultation services. Working collaboratively and providing clinical leadership with nursing and allied health departments to develop endocrine care programs for CHA patients. Attending and participating in Quality improvement meetings as assigned by the Chief of Medicine. Developing and supporting relationships with tertiary care institutions to supplement endocrine care for CHA patients. Providing leadership to improve the patient and family experience for patients. Establishing annual department objectives in concert with budget plans. Providing leadership to develop and promote cost effective management of patients. Monitoring productivity levels of individuals in the endocrinology division. Working with administrative leadership to develop business and marketing plans to promote growth and market share. Promoting within endocrinology a culture of clear communication, transparency, and learning. Counseling, coaching, and disciplining endocrinology staff to achieve standards of care and/or productivity level. Performing clinical duties, including attending to patients during regular appointments and/or during periods of hospitalization, sharing on-call duties for nights, weekends, and holidays consistent with Department policies, and providing inpatient and emergency department consultations. Participating in teaching opportunities, to be defined by the Department Chief.

    Minimum requirements: Doctor of Medicine degree or its equivalent, completion of a 3-year medical residency program in internal medicine, and 5 years of post-residency experience as an Endocrinologist.  

    Must have: Board Certification in Endocrinology. License to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Demonstrates good communication, organizational skills, and relevant practice experience.
